I had a bit of a revelation this week about college. I haven’t been using my time there constructively at all these past 2 & half years. One of the main reasons I went to art school was to get to grips with the darkroom & have space to develop my photographic skills but I haven’t even developed a print in the darkroom since first year. That’s pretty poor going.

Now I just have to convince my tutors that photography is worth pursuing instead of traditional printmaking media.

We headlined Green & Live in Dolan’s last night (Limerick) – also playing were The Funeral Suits, so I nabbed the opportunity to get a bit of practice in. The lighting was awful but I’m happy enough with the results & got to play around with the flash a lot, which I haven’t done before.

Could do with a proper remote flash unit but I could do with a van & a Rickenbacker more so I guess that’ll have to wait :P

The room’s coming along nicely… getting my hands on an EMU 1820 interface for €150 squid on Thursday, which will hopefully mean I can get the ball rolling at last… :D
