I am an incurable packrat who finally bit the bullet. What did I really think I was going to do with all that crap anyway? It’s not like one day I’d magically decide that all the stuff in boxes and tubs was wearable again! (80’s clothing and beyond isn’t the same quality as vintage finds from the 70’s and back. It’s not going to stand the test of time, even if the styles are coming back around)
I bought a box of contractor grade trash bags and stuffed them to capacity. I called the local thrifts, but none of them showed up before we moved. All of it went to the curb. I think there were 18 bags out there when the trash guys arrived.
I would have preferred to donate it, but who am I kidding? If I didn’t wanna wear any of it, why would anyone else?
This is a very liberating thing to do. And now I have a ton of closet space for more stuff!
