a friend and I hitchhiked to Morocco to raise money for charity and along the way we were helped out lots of times, and in really unexpected ways. We were lent a guys flat for the night, he trusted us enough to give us his keys. We were also taken in by an older couple and slept in luxury, and one guy went out of his way to drive us to the airport when we were about to miss our flight! there is so much kindness out there, but sometimes I don’t participate enough in that, so yeah, I want to go out of my way to help people.

Next time you see a hitchhiker and they’re in charity tshirts, jumping up and down, pick em up please!

today I was granted leave of absence. I also got an email through saying I could have a social work interview. I feel so much relief already, even though I still could have to go home and reapply if I don’t get through this interview. It’s worth it!

this morning (Monday, 10am) a stranger on a bicycle stopped and gave me a flower. I said thank you, and being slightly puzzled, I asked, ‘why?’ he simply replied, ‘because you’re beautiful’

now i’ve never been the recipient of a random act of kindness before, but it made my day! It makes me realise that the world needs a dose of kindness.

So now i’m happy =D
