How I did it: I had been interested in slam for years before I did, I just didn't know how to get into it. I met two people who were slammers, and that's how I found out about when and were my slam was, but you can find listings for readings online, or you can google slam poetry and your city. i got myself into a situation with a boy that i’m rather familiar with (the situation, not the boy) over the weekend.
i’ve messed up a little, but i know that in these cases, silence is the best option. resisting my impulses is the BEST option. and i’ve given in some, but overall, i’ve been far more aware of what i’m doing and why i’m doing it than i ever have before.
i don’t consider this goal achieved, but i’m far closer.
