Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

Still Chippin Away and Feelin Good About the Effort

I have been doing some more downgrading lately. Yesterday I cancelled my cable tv package. I signed up for an online tv and movie site, as well as with an ebook company. I can’t wait until I can afford a nice laptop, some good back up and maybe a tablet. Then I can be rid of my big TV(unless my boyfriend wins that fight lol) my Desktop and outdated and large monitor, a whole desk, tv stand and 2 chairs.

I did pack away about 10 boxes of books and photo CD’s. It would be kind of handy to scan everything or copy it onto an external flashdrive or some USB’s which take up much less space, and are much lighter to move around, but I am a little worried about their reliability, and also not sure where to store the originals safely.

Thinking of reducing mail clutter this week, making sure I’m swithced to emailed or electronic bills and off of paper. Also, I must confess I rarely recycle at home and I must start soon reducing the amount of household garbage I produce. This part I will like I’m sure; It’s just to get into the habit.

Till Next Time!

Get out of Debt and Into Saving
From Debt to Saving

Well I have started by reducing my expenses, and will continue to do so. Over the next few weeks, I plan to give up my car for the winter. This will save a little money and a lot of stress, since winter parking in my neighborhood sucks!

I figure the extra walking and lack of drive thru coffees and snacks will help me in my weight loss goals as well. Only thing to consider now is the extra warm winter clothes I will need to gear up with first.
