Following my last entry on this I did try and go Speed Dating. Unfortunately after me and my friends had arrived and been there waiting for everything to start for a good half an hour we were told the event had ben cancelled.
Apparently a large group of girls had bailed out at the last minute and there wasn’t a decent number of us to make a night of it. We then ended up on a table with the few people that had turned up and stayed (4 guys, 1 girl including us) and the girl just started kicking off at the organiser and then moaning about having to go home alone.
It didn’t help that prior to this she had started to come onto me and as I’m not very good at taking compliments it was a bit awkward and very scary! And though I wish I could say that my experience hadn’t put me off trying again, but I think it has. Oh and it also took bloody ages to get my money back as they would only offer me tickets to another event and the guy who I spoke to was a lied to me about a few things too. All in all – not good. :(

I’m currently trying to Ebay every bit of crap that I’ve stockpiled in my bedroom before I move out because my new flat is going to be tiny! It’s a good incentive though as I need a reason to push myself and this is it.
Only problem is I didn’t realise how much crap I have and it doesn’t help that my brother moved out and left all his shit here and said that I had to deal with it. Guess it’s going to serve him right then if I give all his expensive audio editing equipment that he seems to have forgotten about to a mate. Ha ha!
Anyways I better get back to wrapping this junk up and log on to Ebay to create some more listings. Hopefully soon it will be done, otherwise I fear I may turn into one of those crazy old men that keep piles and piles of newspapers and bottles of their own urine.

A month ago I put down an offer on a flat and it was excepted! I would never have been able to afford it if it wasn’t on a first time buyer scheme, but with the way things are I didn’t want to throw my money away renting a property for the same price I could be paying a mortgage.
It is all a little scary though and a bit too grown up for me. There’s been forms to fill in and visits to see the mortgage advisor, but the worst bit is seeing all the money that’s coming out already on fees and also I’m a bit worried about the first month as I know it’s going to be tough!
It’s all up in the air right now and I think it’s going to take at least a month or two before the keys are handed over and the contracts are exchanged, but I’ll be sure to update when I move out.
