From Oct. 20-24, 2005 I was at Zion and Bryce National Parks. Zion is amazing, with towering red sheer cliffs 2,000-4,000 ft above the Canyon floor. With my Billy, I hiked the Angel’s Landing trail to Scouts Lookout (4 miles roundtrip, 1,050 ft elevation gain). The next day, we hiked to Observation Point (8 miles roundtrip, 2,150 ft elevation gain). Lastly, strolled down the Riverside Walk towards the Narrows, 2 miles roundtrip beside the Virgin River. Definitely worth doing. Observation Point was our favorite. Will definitely be going back to hike more trails!

On Oct. 22, 2005, I hiked the Sunny 8 Loop in Bryce Canyon National Park. This hike is also known as the Queens Garden/Navajo Loop/Peek-A-Boo Loop Combo. The best part was the 3-mile Peek-A-Boo Loop section. I was wondering why it was called such, until I saw what I found out later was called The Wall of Windows. Against white clouds and a bright blue sky, it was breathtaking!
