The Audacity of Hope: Thoughts on Reclaiming the American Dream, Barack Obama
Ashley and mines trip to Chicago was great. We ran out of time to get all the things done that we wanted to do, but that just means we’ll have to visit again soon!! We stayed at an great hotel, and visited a lot of amazing places. Also, the Tigers beat the White Sox while we were in the stands watching! It was our first trip together out of state, and it was a great experience, Thanks Chicago!
Less than a week to go before Ashley and I are on our way to Chicago!! Tickets are purchased and Hotel is locked down, just planning things to do now….
Just finished When You Are Engulfed in Flames by David Sedaris. I have enjoyed many of Sedaris’ previous books and this one is no different. Very well written and full of laughs! I would recommend this book to family and friends.
Just finshed “The Chis Farley Show: A Biography in Three Acts”, written by Tom Farley Jr. and Tanner Colby. If you are a Chris Farley fan, this is a great, yet sad recount of his life through the eyes of some of the closest people to him. Highly Recommended…
Have a huge Fourth of July planned this year! Going up to the family property to spend a weekend with 30 or so family and friends! Can’t Wait for the drama to begin…haha!!
Just finished my month up yesterday and I have to say that this wasn’t as bad as I had built it up to be….not only did I have no real cravings to eat meat, but I also lost nearly 15 pounds in 4 weeks! It has opened my eyes to many new options on the menu when I go out to eat at restraunts, which is nice. I would say this is definetly worth trying!!
Just got done reading Barack Obama’s first book “Dreams from my Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance”. It was refreshing to read this book written by Senator Obama nearly 10 years ago, before he saw the need to fill it full of hints at his policies and such…I recommend this one over his second book if you really want to know where he came from…
Wow, so I haven’t posted to this goal in awhile, but I have four more nights to go and I can declare that I have been a vegetarian for a month!! I have to admit that when I started this goal I thought it would be much tougher than it has turned out to be. I thought the temptation would conquer me, but I have really not had “cravings” like I thought. Also, since I cut meat from my diet, my appetite has decreased, I am eating smaller proportions, and I have lost nearly 15 pounds in just under 4 weeks! Here’s to hopin’ I make it through the next four nights!!!
So I made a trip to IKEA this weekend with Ashley, and managed to spend less than $100 but got some great stuff to update the apt. with. Also I managed to snag up two pieces of used furniture for free from a friend who was moving out of her house, SCORE!!
Had a Dr.’s appointment today and found out that I have lost 10 pounds in the last 3 weeks! I would say that this goal is off to a good start…:-)
I have a long road ahead of me on this one…I can say that I have been to Old Tiger Stadium, and Comerica Park in Detroit. I have seen the outside of a few more stadiums but never watched a game in them…I am planning a trip to Chicago in August and plan to catch a the Tigers game at White Sox stadium! So, I’m on my way…
Well so far it is going good, the hardest time to not drink soda for me is at work…I think it is more because of the routine of going and actually getting the soda, so yesterday I thought I would walk to the machine and buy a water…amazingly enough, IT WORKED!
Well, tomorrow will be 10 days without any meat..I have to say that so far it has been easier than I expected, since I have eaten meat my whole life. Today was interesting because it was the first experience shopping for groceries for me since I started this adventure…it went pretty good. Ashley trying this along with me has made it easier I think….
I have been dating my girlfriend for five weeks now and I couldn’t be happier…she has become my best friend and I can see myself making this goal with ease…she is AMAZING!
My girlfriend and I are in the process of planning a trip in early August! We’re going to kick back, take it easy and just ride the train into town…we are going to catch a Sox vs. Tigers game while we’re there! Can’t wait to spend time with her in the Windy City….
