I have been out there clearing and digging a lot recently. Also have lots of seedlings on the window sills. A long way still to go, but looking up.

How I did it: I decided to give up all sweet things for Lent - including fruit. It may have been a little extreme, but it really helped me kick the craving for something sweet. It is easier in many ways to give up everything than just one or two things. I think eating sweet things is a bit addictive, and just leads you to want more. Once your body has got used to not having them, it stops being a problem. Read how I did it…
We went to see “the 39 Steps” in January – lovely family outing on the train to London. May go to see something during Family Week in August too. No “serious” plays though, which is more what I had in mind.
I stopped.
But then I started again.
I like drinking. It’s an escape. I would rather be out doing exciting and interesting things, but that is not an option.
There are other issues I need to work on.
