On the outside, it’s a small, cute 1 3/4-story stucco home. The fact that it sits with the back yard on the side of the house and the back of the house on a street should have been an early indication that not all was as it seemed.

I use the phrases, “built by two drunks on a long weekend” and “when good people do bad things to a home” quite often when talking about the house. I’ve seen things that no man or woman should have to see when opening walls, ceilings and other enclosures. 2×4’s that don’t quite touch the ground hanging inside walls, floor joists suspended in air by the flooring above, six wires attached to the same fuse and wood chip insulation but to name a few.
