Not for me this year…
I’m going to Paris in March, but I’ve been in love with the language for some time (and with French Canadian women). So instead of putting it off any longer, I’ve acquired some Michel Thomas cds. I finished the first one yesterday and it’s pretty darn amazing.
I took one French class in middle school (before doing 4-years of Spanish in high school) and I don’t think I’ve ever been as excited about learning a language as I am now!
I love this show. I came up with a script idea on the walk home from work. As soon as I got back, I did some googling and downloaded a demo of Final Draft.
This is tougher than expected. I’m even forgetting to practice ambidexterity by doing common tasks (like brushing teeth) with my opposite hand. Time to write some sticky notes.
A quick del.icio.us search turned up this link: http://traevoli.com/ambidex.php
It seems like a good place to start, along with all the 43T entries. I will have to block off some time to devise a plan. (I’m open to suggestions!)
I absolutely want to do this before summer’s over. There are some very interesting ones here: http://www.charityguide.org/volunteer/vacations.htm
I sold my Harmony guitar and Crate amp a few months ago. I still want to do this, but just not right now. I figure if I really have the urge to do it, then I’d do it right – practice every day and take some lessons. Right now it’s low on my list.
... getting rid of all the stuff I have and don’t need to survive. Ideally it would be a suitcase and nothing else, but realistically I wouldn’t mind having a few sentimental objects and valuable pieces of furniture tucked away in storage. We shall see.
I generally need to be in a Randian (Randan? Randesque?) mood to read this, and haven’t been lately (which is slightly alarming).
... on my online trading account’s 1099-INTs.
I also have to sort through my receipts for business-related expenses. The good news is that since I work in advertising, I can deduct books, movies, games, gadgets, and pretty much anything that counts as “inspiration.”
The bad news is that I suck at keeping receipts.
I just had a GREAT idea for a project and I need a partner to help build something wonderful. No rush, it can be a spare-time thing on the side. I’d prefer to work with someone in the NYC area, but I’m flexible :)
You know what I realized, I don’t need to worry about this. Instead of finishing the portfolio for the sake of having one, I’ve decided to keep trying to create wonderful and interesting things because that’s what I enjoy doing. The portfolio will build itself :)
I learned that this was wayyy too time-consuming for me. If you have a bunch of free hours to spare in the week and can keep that going on a regular schedule, you can definitely do it! Good luck.
Whew… been a while since I wrote in this thing. Anyway, a little over a month ago, I started as a Junior creative @ Anomaly New York. This is my dream job and I couldn’t be happier! Coming into work is a joy and I truly believe in what my company stands for :)
It was my graduation present… and great (but expensive) camera for learning photography.
