... being financially independent, like I have been for all of my adult life, is a much smarter way to live one’s life.

Although it is a lot more work, I think it is more rewarding than being an heiress;)

It can be very difficult to quit, but once you know you are ready to do it, it is relatively easy. I recommend it.
