lip plugs!?

“Lip plugs (labrets) were worn by men. Starting at about age 13, both sides of a young man’s lower lip were pierced. The holes were gradually enlarged by inserting bigger and bigger plugs.

i thought it was kinda gross. and funny. and it was ironic that i was with my friend Tori at the time, who has ear plugs, although hers werent quite as big as these ones (and hers were shiny blue plastic, not splintery wood). She thought they were cool.
