I was originally planning to take the gradual approach, but ended up taking the cold turkey route. I live in Seattle so temptation is everywhere, but I’ve managed with one decaf a day and one decaf americano on the weekend. I have the occasional diet coke, but otherwise, no caffeine. I had been drinking a venti in the a.m. plus a grande in the afternoon so I’m surprised the headaches went away so quickly. I drink tons of water, which probably helps.

The perfect day

Hike though the vineyards overlooking the Cinque Terre, grab a slice of fresh, hot foccacia, end the day at the wine bar in Corniglia. Perfect.
Counter Clockwise from Chamonix

Started in Chamonix, and hiked through beautiful alpine pastures near Les Houches to Bionnassay, Les Contamines and up to Col du Bonhomme and Col de la Croix du Bonhomme. Then down to Le Chapieux and the border crossing into Italy ad Col de la Seigne. Next, it was on to Courmayeur, Val Ferret and Monte de la Saxe. Hiked up to the Grand Col Ferret and the Swiss border and on to La Fouly and Champex. Had a very memorable final night on the TMB at Col de Balme before hiking back down to the valley and Chamonix. Incredible.
