Don’t be afraid you’ll fail or look foolish. If it looks fun or interesting or you really always wanted to do it… well then do it! Find someone who can show how. Save up if you need to. But DO IT. You may not be the best at whatever it is, but you can give it your best. And it’s the experience of trying that matters. Trust me!

How I did it: I selected a stitch that would be easy on my fingers in case the MS made my hands numb. then I decided on a color combination that I could repeat for a larger blanket (man-sized). I purchased materials as I worked in case I found I couldn't do this, so I wouldn't waste money. Little by little, I watched my work pay off! Read how I did it…
How I did it: I reflected on what filled me with positive energy and what uplifted me when I was feeling sad or overwhelmed by life. I also didn't force myself into a deadline or a set number of entries each time, so I could just write whatever came to mind. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I used the internet - myspace, linkedin, and plaxo. Classmates.com helped out too. Once I connected with one or two people, the rest quickly fell into place. Read how I did it…

9. Don’t sweat the small stuff. There will be many things in your life that you have little or no control over. Learn to be flexible and to approach them with a sense of humor and humilty – “this too shall pass” in other words. Remember what matters when things don’t seem to be going your way. You have people who care about you. people that you care about. People that probably depend on you. the world is a better place because you are in it. And God Loves you no metter what is going on in your life.
So just take a deep breath and if all else fails remember that baffling trick your pet sometimes does – spinning in place three times before sitting down. (I think it clears their head!) :)
This is really getting exciting for me, because I have tried unsuccessfully to get back to sewing and crocheting for years since I got sick. I don’t know if it was combining it with my Lenten time prayers and focus, but I have been tremendously successful this time. I have completed 73 rows of this project so far in only 30 days. I am extremely pleased, since I was only planning to complete 1 row each day. I now have the confidence I need to finish this. There have been a couple of days when I could only do a part of a row, but I made sure I always did some sewing. My husband can’t wait to use the blanket, but I keep reminding him not to rush me. April 11 will be 50 days.
