I have a newfound respect for anesthesia. Ever since I had surgery a few weeks ago, I discovered that anesthesia is an innovative drug (?) that has saved millions of people from excruciating pain.
Because I do not want to go to medical school, take the MCAT, have 3 years of residency and spend several years in medical school, I decided that the best path for me would be to become a nurse anesthetist. I am still doing research on this career, but hopefully this will suit me well.
The thought of being a guardian angel, looking over the patient makes me smile. Anesthesiologists and nurse anesthetist essentially ease the pain and make patients wake up and realize the hard, long surgery is over.
