How I did it: I registered for the trek at Global Adventure Challenges and paid my deposit. Then the hard work began, i chose the charity I was walking for and then started to fundraise, and to train, both of which weren't so easy whilst working full time. I had to put the trip back 6 months as my job commitments changed and I never actually thought that I would get there. Then all of a sudden it was here and I was off! How I did it: It was difficult not to whinge but this in itself allowed some analysis of what was wrong and why the whinging occurred quite as often as it did. It allowed me to examine what needed to change and what could stay the same. It also allowed me to look for other ways to deal with the difficult or mundane things in life. It also allowed me to feel able to whinge when appropriate. Read how I did it…
How I did it: By being brave and getting out there! As someone who does not like the limelight, just telling people what I was doing was hard at first. Now it feels ok and I got over myself. I even got myself a justgiving page and considered making a youtube video of my progress. Stretched those lazy muscles of mine this morning, and then put them to use walking to the craft shop and back; detoured through the cemetery to visit my parent’s grave.
