I am already an intermediate Spanish speaker but my problem is that I understand much more than I’m able to speak. I suppose it is because I think too much about grammar and what I am going to say. If I was a fluent Spanish speaker I feel it would greatly improve my everyday relations with people.

I remember while reading The Alchemist by Paolo Coehlo and wondering how one person could have such insight into life. I researched him a little bit on the internet and found that early on in his career he took this famous pilgrimage. After reading another one of his book called The Zahir, he talked more about this journey in a semi-autobiographical fashion. He took this walk because his wife urged him as she thought it would put him back on track to achieving his life goals. While I am not a Catholic and this is considered a Catholic pilgrimage, the idea of walking for over a month with a specific goal seems humbling. I read a lot of books about spirituality, but I feel I lack it in my everyday life. I hope this journey will help me on my way.
