Especially if you come from a nationalistic/zenophobic country…Pick an opposite culture, with opposite ideals and you will go one step further to really understanding the world…
The hardest thing about quiting cigarettes is the decision. The real, This is it! decision. It’s an amazing experience to see the world throgh beautifal new colors, clear thoughts and euphoria. There are regular spots through this period where it can become rocky. This is the withdrawals… Depending on wether you are able to give yourself some time out and focus on what you are going through and your resolve, mixed with self love will all depend on how hard they hit …. There is a technique to stay above the ‘needing’ feeling… Just imagine yourself above it and if need be, wait it out. On the first two days this can mean waiting 5-6 hours when they set in. Just stay above it. That is, see it, experience it, just don’t become it. The more you ‘accept’ the withdrawals the more they go away… the more you try to hide from them the worst they become… In fact, if you can find a place for yourself and actually try to love that part of yourself that is hurting and really focus on it and give it all your attention like you would to a new born baby, then you will probably not suffer from withdrawals and likely transmit or transform it into a very positive force and quitting smoking will be like taking a holiday, maybe even better. In fact, if you brave out the withdrawal period, especially in the first two days, the feelings of euphoria will take on epic proportions and the withdrawal periods will slowly diminish over time as life pumps stronger through your system once again…
You’ll feel like a born again christian but with out the extra expence of a religion attached…
Don’t be hard on yourself. We all make mistakes and sometimes it’s hard to grasp how an addiction can take hold. Doubled with a society that is really hard on it too, can make you feel isolated. If you can’t give up but want to, don’t be hard on yourself.. Just keep affirming positive thoughts…..Good luck and let me know how you go :)
