How I did it: I stopped sleeping in on Saturdays. I started making friends at other Halls so if I wanted to go out in service with different people, I could. I ordered more magazines. Seeing a stack of them lying around the house gives you an incentive to get out there and place them in someone's hand. I got closer to the pioneers. How I did it: Just appreciating the things I see and what other people do made this pretty easy. Taking life lightly helped too; not taking things so seriously helps you to see the humor in everything. Watching television shows and movies that make me laugh help me to gain perspective; I appreciate things like "Monty Python's Flying Circus", "The Misadventures of Flapjack", "Nacho Libre" and "House of Payne". How I did it: One thing I've stopped doing is complaining in public. Even if someone does something to me that I think is dumb, it's better to keep it private. The other thing that really, really helped is having open, honest, kind but firm friends that are very well-liked people as well. ...but worth the clean conscience. Tomorrow will mark the end of April, a month I’ve promised to myself and to God to be free of this habit. Things get a bit easier every day
My best friend and I both have this problem. This year, we decided that 2009 will be the very last masturbation rules over us. Having someone else to support you and who’s struggling with the same thing helps, because you know you’re not alone. It’s been 10 days. Last year, I had went two 37 day stretches without doing this, just to see if I could. The goal seems right ahead of me. Don’t give up!!!
