whatever the hell that means. if i knew what it was then i could work toward those ends. my job IS a good paying job that many people would kill for. i get told that all the time. but somehow putting athletic shoes on player’s and coach’s feet is not all that meaningful. i work for one of the two biggest athletic shoe companies in the world. cool, yes. akin to finding a cure for a horrible disease, no. i’ve been at it for 5 years now and i fear that this line of work has run it’s course. i’m not single anymore; the travel sucks and when an emergency arrises it involves some 6’9” basketball player having a shoe go defective and the coach is PISSED! in the whole scheme of things is this in any way meaningful? of course not.
step back and really think of what it is that is your true passion! what really drives you? what is important to you? why are you not doing what it is you love to do?
each job has it’s own unique positive and negative aspects. at this point i have to ask: what sort of career would be so fulfilling that it would be worth FACING the negatives and make me feel like i was, in some manner fulfilling my destiny…?
