be an animator and be a mom (read all 2 entries…)
Not quite a mom yet - 3 months and counting

Well, we up and did it. After our first try I am pregnant as of July 06’. Due in April 07. We moved back to Chicago from the New York area for the friends, family and lower cost and greater ease of living. Also, there is more game company action here, which is probably my best bet for long-term employment as an animator. Right now I’m working on animations for internet ad games, and I really like it. So far so good! We’ll see how the animation-making goes after the baby is born.

I think it’s all going to work out just fine. After fretting for such a long time about taking the plunge, it’s really cool to see what the necessity of the situation is doing to my psyche. I worry less about trifles, and am trying to focus on the basic, important things, like doing good work without being an obsessive workaholic, and taking care of myself and my baby.

Heave ho!

Got rid of another bag of clothes. Sold most of my CDs this past year. Now all I need to do is be a monk and have no furnishings. And do I really need the double boiler I received as a wedding present?

leave my city once a month, leave my country once a year
What a great idea!

Am I there? Let’s see…lived in Canada for a year from 03-04. Haven’t been out of New York in a year. We’re hoping to go to Barcelona in the spring, and I’d like a quick trip to Chicago in the next month or so. Need to think about this some more…

Thanks, idea guy!
