Powder in my face because my knee is leading the way 3 years ago

Thanksgiving 1993. Big Mountain Montana. Open the window shade on an empty parking lot, a beautiful sunrise and 18 inches of new powder. My girlfriend (now wife and mother of our children) and I had taken the Amtrak from Seattle down to Portland and then up to Big Mountain for 3 days of skiing. All three were unbelievable days of snow, fresh snow and lots of powder. The telemark conditions were beyond words. I would literally have to stop and breathe because the snow was flying up into my face when I would sink down into my turns. We made first tracks everywhere we went the entire first day. All the spruce trees were snow ghosts. An absolutely amazing experience. And telemarking the whole time made it even sweeter!

learn Russian
just discovered an interesting (to me anyway) site) 3 years ago

I was surfing around the other night and happened to come upon www.mylanguageexchange.com. So I signed up and am continuing to look at it. It looks like a web version of pen pals where you sign up on the language page that you want to learn and then you get matched with someone that wants to learn the language you know.

Bench press 300 lbs
A great feeling! 3 years ago

To me this is a huge personal goal. And now that I blew past it I’m after 315#. I really like the idea of 3 45s on each side and the bar having a little bow in it.

Weightlifting has shown me the value of goal setting, the value of consistent habits, and the value of persistence. I had messed around with lifting ever since college but had never been much good at it. At age 37 I just decided to start. And so my garage became the simplest of gyms and my wife the spotter. It’s three years later now and I’ve just turned 40. I’m doing more at age 40 than I was at 37. At 37 I was doing more than at 27. I’m happy as !@#$ that I’m doing more not less as I get older!
