whenever i visit a bookstore, i go straight to the children’s section and bury my nose into a shel silverstein book. i swear, i have learned more from his books than from the 500-pagers i have read in my life.
i never really outgrew my fondness for children’s books. i’ve always thought that one day, i’ll be able to create one, too. but what’s wrong with now? after all, i already have the time and the resources and my boyfriend has already offered to collaborate with me on this (he’s a great artist :P)
let’s do this!

even if i graduated with a degree in film, it doesn’t mean i can’t be a pre-school teacher right?
i won’t be giving up film entirely, anyway. my plan before was to get into film production and have a teaching job on the side so i could have a steady income since film production fees tend to come on a per project basis. now, i want it the other way around. i want to focus on teaching, then have editing or other production related work on the side or during the summer.
i am glad i discovered what i want to do for a living. too bad i discovered it a few months before i was to graduate with a degree entirely different from teaching.
why didn’t i see it before? i love kids. i consider my student teaching experiences part of my most memorable and high moments of my life. i have a knack of communicating with kids (better, no doubt, than my communication skills with people my age). i used to play dress up when i was young so i could wear my mom’s high heeled shoes which made that click clack sound on the floor, exactly like the ones my teachers made while they were watching over us during exams.
sigh
still, i am only twenty one. there’s still a lot of time. wish me luck :)
