Have I "done this" in the 43T sense? 8 months ago

Last Thanksgiving, through our Network Care practice, we organized a group of people to make breakfast and serve it at a downtown shelter for men. It was an amazing experience. Some practice members did not have the time, so they donated money for the food. Some people were not available to help serve, but made a fruit salad for us to bring. It was beautiful to see our community come together and give whatever was appropriate for them. We had a dad and his two sons show up to help us serve, as well as a mom and her son. The boys loved the industrial dish washing set up. How funny to see kids having a blast doing dishes!

I guess I could say “I’ve done this” but when I added this goal to my list, I envisioned it more as a regualr pratice, so I’m leaving it on. I hope to organize regular service projects through the practice. It’s fun to make a difference while connecting in community to like minded and hearted people.

Revising my Goal 8 months ago

So I realize now that I have no desire to log in to my 43 Things every day, nor do I wish to keep on with the entries below that go into list mode for the days I have missed since my last log in.

I know I have the “find at least one thing every day” component down and that’s the important one to me. Although recording it everyday seems to be the part that 43 Things plays in this whole scenario. So what the dealio. I’ll just record my happy things when I log in and call it good.

Yesterday, I taught my first practice Nia class. My first students were Brian, Anastacia, and Katerina. They were so enthusiastic and willing students. It was a really great experience. I definitely need more diligence learning the routine before I have my first paid customers on Saturday, but I was able to play and have fun with the routine even as I was messing up. I call that success.

The Most AMAZING Growth Experience 9 months ago

I encourage anyone who loves Nia to do this whether they want to be a teacher or not. The love and care and attention that so obviously went into creating this training program is so beautiful to experience. There is SO much material that is not specific to teaching Nia and can be applied to moving through life with joy and integrity.

I chose to train with the developers of Nia, Carlos & Debbie Rosas in Portland and enjoyed every single moment.
