I’m knitting the Great American Afghan as a wedding present for my sister and her husband. There are 25 squares that you make and sew together. So far, I have completed 2 and I’m working on my third. Their wedding is October 31st. It’s a good thing you have a year to give a couple their present!

I found out this morning that I passed my written exams. My oral exams are scheduled for next Thursday (a week from today). Is it weird that I’m more nervous instead of less nervous? I hadn’t given them much thought because I was so focused on the written portion. A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. They don’t talk much about how you feel when you’re close to the thousand mile mark.
Well, I take my MA exams a week from Friday, and I think I’m pretty much ready. I still have a few things to read, but my advisors seems to think that I’m going to pass (and since they’re the ones who decide if I do, I suppose that’s what matters). I dropped out of graduate school for about three years after coming to a standstill with my thesis, so finishing for me will be a huge accomplishment.
