How I did it: Finding peace of mind before actually having the courage to face the process (as a matter of fact, the peace of mind brought the courage with it). I quit 5 years ago, stayed clean for 3 and then took it on again. Just one cigarrette and there go three years without smoking. How I did it: I quit smoking 6 months ago. And I actualy didn't start from scratch. I had already been a non-smoker for 3 years, and that's when I took on ruuning, although just to make 5k to stay fit. By a twist of fate I took smoking on again for two years, and did virtually no exercise at all during those two years. But... I finally quit and began training again. Begining on April the 18th I’ve now been almost three weeks. Obviously Beti was not here so it was easier to stay away from temptation. Now it’s almost so much keeping her away from cigarrettes as it is keeping myself.
I had a last one in the airport terminal. After landing in Madrid for the weekend, i smoked the lst one, enjoyed it fully and left it behind quite easily. Let’s stay so!
