And I have adsense code uploaded on my food blog.
However, though there is traffic to my site, I’ve made mere dimes (literally!) in two months! What is up with that?!
Anyways, I’m glad that I’m blogging (I love cooking), but would love more to make some money from it as well!

And yet when the official “blog boom” came alone, I got left behind.
I started out on Geocities. Anyone remember that?!? I’ve always just kept a journal, then it somehow separated into the whole training blog, personal blog, and eating / food blog.
I’m not greedy, I’d just like to make some small change, even a couple bucks per day, for doing something that I am doing already.
Any ideas out there?

I did it!!!! I am at work now, and am really sore. One of my co-workers is making fun of me and saying how I should walk with my arms straight out in front of me. You know. Like Frankenstein.
ha. ha. ha.
But yes. I am proud to be a VANCOUVER MARATHON FINISHER!!!
It was really hard to keep moving, to keep the momentum, but all the people at the side of the road, the supporters, volunteers and the other runners really helped. People were cheering, smiling, and hi-fiving.
There were a couple people with goofy costumes like huge foam hats and the “All-American” football player (I’d seen him before at other runs). It was really cool to see other people from other events at this one. Wow.
I love this. I think I’m more comfortable with the half-marathon as its a “doable” challenge, but I might attempt another marathon (well-trained) to see what time I get.
The route was scenic and it was a great day for a run – not cold, not wet, not too hot. There was some cloud, but for the most part the temperature was suitable for a long run like this.
I didn’t bring my camera, gps or ipod. I’m glad I didn’t, because I’m sure I would have started cursing myself for bringing along extra weight or distractions.
Moments during the run:
- the older Japanese gentleman runnint with a monkey on his back – I was SO tempted to make my way over and hug / pet his monkey! (ok that sounds dirty.)
- the older American guy who ran along side me for the longest time! He was high-fiving everyone he met / passed! He passed me, but I got really excited during the final stretch of Pacific blvd and ended up passing him, along with 7 green girls.
- all the “pockets” of Vancouver that I’ve never seen / run along! Ok, so some parts of the route were along “sketchier” parts of Chinatown and gastown, but I wished I had my camera. I’ll probably do a “drive by shoot” of some postered walls or architectural buildings
- the volunteers were great. I cannot believe these young girls and guys were out there the entire time the runners were out there. Yay to the volunteers!
- same goes for the supporters / fans. There was a party going on in Kits area. They were all out front cheering, clapping, and drinking cocktails. I wished I could have stopped and had a little siesta at that point!
- as usual, the other runners were amazing. I think the thoughts are really different when you’re running a marathon versus running a half or 10k. People are less annoying (perhaps because I am too tired to pay attention) and are generally nicer. Loved that.
Anyways, I am glad I did it. It was a really great experience!
