deal with anxiety
Not to sound like a cliche... 17 months ago

But I dealt with my anxiety in several ways, including therapy, which was surprisingly helpful. I saw a counselor and briefly took Lorazepam when I thought I would experience panic attacks—but most importantly, I made changes in my lifestyle and my work situation which were contributing to the problem.

If you have anxiety, seek help—it’s worth it, and fairly easy to stop if you work at it.

have more fun
Having more fun 17 months ago

I was miserable in a job that I hated, and was upset with the fact that the person I thought I should be didn’t match up with who I want to be or even who I really am.

So I dropped the job (a dangerous proposition, but it paid off), and started aligning myself with my real goals and values. And goofed off! It’s great, well worth it.

make friends
Friends=good! 2 years ago

I recently moved to a new area and spent a lot of time by myself—no fun at all. So I resolved to meet new people, through work, through the Internet, whatever. It’s a little weird at first, but definitely worth it!
