its a bit tricky in my town being that entry to the best firms are reserved for the people with a) killer portfolio b) best contacts/hook ups. i have a couple of commercial clients at the moment and will probably go freelance this year in order to uild my experience and a really nice portfolio of work…. commercial experience seems to be the be all and end all of this biz..
so yea first jobs PHP tweaks, a bit of javascript and a whole bunch of markup.. quite excited.
any thoughts on the biz from anyone in it?

got a small stable of local beatmakers, singers, one or two mcs. We are leaning towards a more soulful, instrumental, technical sound which i wouldnt classify as hiphop but has elements of it. We will start with shows – the first edition of a new monthly residency is on feb 21, 5 djs.
i opened for flying lotus afew weeks ago which really solidified the idea there is a crew in my town who are mad keen for this ish.
to anyone out there with the same musical leanings, would love to be updated on your progress… i will try update you with mine
