I made a square!

Okay, not the most complicated first project….but I made a square for Warm Up America – the square will be sewn (knitted?) together with others to make blankets for the homeless. I’m psyched! On to making a scarf!
I’m getting better at this, but it’s challenging to find the boundaries of “conscious consumer.” I could cut all ties and head for the woods…but I am unlikely to do that. So I am buying “green” products, finding alternatives to chemical-based household cleaners and products, attempting to reduce the amount of mail/Internet order products coming into our home (the amount of packaging is killing me!), and turning off more lights and turning down the heat. The green stuff costs more but the long-term benefit keeps me motivated.
