So the other day I was talking to a co-worker and global warming came up and she asked what is global warming.

Another doesn’t watch the new ‘cause she can’t do anything about what she hears so why bother. She doesn’t vote either.

On the job, I did not add the designation of female (which was indicated on my source document) because the customer’s name was Alan. I got a ding for it and the error has to go through a formal dispute process before it can be reversed on my record.

The news ran a story about yet another child who was outside playing, almost getting taken. The very next story was about overweight children and that the parents should take the video games away from children and send them out to play.

So what did I do?
I told lady 1 about global warming and gave her a few green ideas. Then I took a breath and shut up.

To lady 2 I quoted Tony Benn from the movie Sicko about changing power from the wallet to the ballot. Then I took a breath and shut up.

Regarding the error…I am letting it go through the process in the hopes that successful resolution can help change the rules. Not as quietly as I would have liked, but then I let go and took a breath and shut up.

I emailed the news program about its incredibly bad scheduling of the two stories, and suggested they do an editorial about the cultural disparities between the two stories. Then I took a breath and shut up..

This is not to say that I have mastered this goal. Far from it.
But I am working on it.

I’ll save my latest rant for another posting.

After I move to Portland I have a few ideas for vacations. This is definitely on my list of things to see.

People craft for many reasons. Fun, Family, or Profit. I need to find something I can do for profit. I can do basic knitting and crocheting but don’t have the patience. I need to find a craft that I could do with either what I already have on hand, or one that requires little outlay of cash.
Since I posted this entry I have tried salt flour sculpture. Easy and I had the supplies on hand (salt, flour, water) but I hated it. (since it would be 2nd source of income I am hoping I can find something that is not so much like work)
I had the idea that I could make small angel and teddy bear pins and take them unpainted to the flea market and have the customer (or more probably their children) paint them. I may still try this. Feel free to try this yourself I you think you can make a go of it. Let me know how it goes.
Stuck refers to the idea that I have to sell something to buy supplies for something I can do. Time to visit the thrift shop for inspiration.
