How I did it: Applied for a permit in January, for a Fall time that I could go. Told all my friends they were invited they just needed to get 7 days off of work. Have at least one other friend really involved so the trip happens with support. Have many phone conversations with people to see who was coming and so you stay involved. The Great Rap Off, ended at the VFW so I headed home after too many gin/tonics on the Titus luckily the big trucks seemed to move over a few feet and the head lamp worked. Feeling upset about the way life has headed. Is it the alcohol or the mid life examination? But some how on a clear night it reminded me of riding home after some of the Ketchum nights, same stars different streets, and I feel a peace and an angst at the same time. I guess all I know is that I gave it all at Karoke singing Carly Simon, You’re so Vain, and the lyrics
“well you where you should be all the time
and when not,
you are with some underworld spy
or the wife of a close friend,
wife of a close friend, and
you’re so vain…”

Sunday took the pooches for a BOSHO lap, great to be in the Sun and the dirt was fast but we took the pace @ Hilo girl speed which is slowing down these days, but very enjoyable. Elsie the visla was a crazy copper flash through the sagebrush. I am not very motivated these days, but realized I need to or get to ride just to get the legs moving. Ran into T to the P, after having top finishes in the nation last year on her road bike, she is 5 months prego. She looked great and we laughed at our plights, she is great with child, I am with gluten.
