If anyone out there enjoys existentialist quasi-metaphysical short stories and essays I strongly suggest the Argentine writer/poet Jorge Luis Borges. Not very well known but among the best of the 20th century.

I had my first big college exam today and I think I did really well. I actually studied my calc notes and text for upwards of six hours and I was so completely prepared that the test seemed really easy. I guess this proves there’s no downside to studying too much.

I’ve found in college that I’ve been inspired to assert for what I want much better than in high school. I can say no to my friends now without feeling like I’m missing out or worrying that they won’t approve. I guess I wouldn’t want friends that wouldn’t like me for the sole reason for not partying or getting drunk.
