I’m always amazed when people talk about “wanting” to volunteer, but not getting up and doing it. There are SO MANY opportunities to do it…and whatever your unique talent is, some organization somewhere will benefit from it.
Interested in medicine? Take an EMT class, and join an ambulance squad.
Like Pets? Volunteer at a local animal rescue.
Like Art? Volunteer at a museum.
Know how to juggle? Get dressed up as a clown and go entertain kids at a local children’s hospital.
Whatever you do, wherever you are – there is an organization out there that could use your help. Just make the time and DO IT.
You’ll feel great that you invested the time in something that matters.

I’ve set a goal to run a 1/2 marathon in April of this year. Since then, I’ve been building up by running 4x / week. There’s nothing like having a goal and a deadline to really get you started.
Get some friends in it with you! I started a blog to track my running progress – and my friends are reading it regularly. It’s really nice to get encouraging comments on my blog.

Stores are located all around NYC – and many of them have pretty good hours. Make sure you make a list of what you brought, so that you can calculate the value for a tax deduction. The hardest part is actually pulling the clothes out of your closet.
