My definition of long is when there’s enough hair to put it all in a ponytail, with as much hair below the band as there is above it, and without any of it sneaking out ‘cause it’s not really long enough. (For some reason those really short ponytails some guys do bug me.) I’m almost there, i’ve even put it up a few times – hot summer in Eugene! – but strands definitely escape.

One of the major benefits of my group house – each of us cooks one weeknight (generally with a partner), so all five nights we have a full dinner and company waiting for us. Plus leftovers!
This used to be a very popular activity, sometimes called keeping a “common book”. It’s offered a lot of meaning and humor to me and others over the years.
After a few years collecting quotes, at a 10 day intensive training seminar i offered a morning “remembering” (something different we did each morning to ground us and remind us why we were there). I printed out a selection of my quotes, and cut up strips of paper with the individual quotes for the group to take turns reading going around a circle. This was very well received and i’ve done it again several times since then.
You can read an out-of-date (as of June 2007) list of my favorite quotes
