Went to US, Japan, Italy, and Belgium. Now I’m ready to just relax and explore my own country for a bit. And maybe France.
So it’s been a week and no word from the hotel. I felt so depressed about it yesterday, the fact that it was exactly the job I want and the interview went so well and yet I don’t seem to have the job. None of the other hotels/restaurants in the area are worth trying. I feel like giving up.
We traded in our Accord for a Jazz which will be easier for me to learn in. I’ve sent in for my provisional license and can’t wait to get started. This is the first time I’ve ever been enthusiastic about driving, I just love the Jazz.
Okay so I got an e-mail back from HR, they said they’d contact me next week about a starting date. So it sounds like I still have the job, but the waiting really sucks.
They never called me, what happened? Should I wait? I emailed them back about the job but I haven’t heard anything. I feel shattered.
The interview went really well and I should be starting in a couple of weeks. The great thing is that I’ll be able to work on pastry as well! Can’t wait can’t wait can’t wait!
Today I have an interview for a commis chef position at a local restaurant. I’m very nervous and very excited I really hope it goes well.
Years of playing violin have finally come in handy when learning the mandolin. Same fingering, nearly the same fingerboard size makes this the perfect fretted instrument for me. It’s great for my tiny fingers and I love the sound. I now know quite a few tunes for it and am ready to head out into the big world of folk sessions.
Picked bilberries (European cousin of blueberry) today up on Birnam hill, tomorrow they will become muffins.
Moved to the beautiful village of Birnam next to Dunkeld in Perthshire. Absolutely gorgeous and I hope to never leave Scotland.
We sold the TV so for at least the next two weeks (until we move into a furnished flat) we will be without one. It feels refreshing, unfortunately our DAB radio doesn’t work in the living room.
Scotland are trying to support Gaelic in the community now and I would love to learn it to a standard to do some teaching. Unfortunately its not used at all in Perthshire, but I’m interested in using it when visiting the islands.
A Boosey and Hawkes 400, really nice student instrument. I hope to get a teacher soon and start working towards my music grades. Practicing every day for at least an hour.
Back to practicing nearly everyday. Working on the Haydn Concerto in G, don’t have a teacher but am still enjoying myself.
We now buy only fair trade tea/coffee, all of the coffee shops we go to support it and also get fruits and sugar. I’m hoping to get some fair trade spices as well.
Missed it again this year and now moving to Scotland we’ll be too far away to go.
