Well, it’s been four years since I started college and put on the freshman 15…or 20…whatever. But I finally decided it was time to stop looking like a chubby 16 year old (seriously, I did) so I’ve been exercising and dieting for the past two weeks-and I’m 10 lbs. lighter! I’ve got a ways to go, but I’m finally starting to reclaim my curves as my own instead of despising them as foreign objects that don’t belong on my body. It’s not easy, especially since food is often one of my biggest comforts during these crazy semesters, but I’m determined this time and I’m never going back!

It’s been my goal for a few years now to go work for a year or so somewhere in the UK after I graduate, but it seems like the more I talk about it with family/friends, the crazier they think I am. They think that I’ll be lonely, that the culture shock will kill me, or that I just won’t find what I’m looking for (whatever that is). Even if that’s all true, I still want to do it-I need to know what it’s like to be somewhere other than here, and even if that isn’t easy, I really want to try. The closer it gets, the more determined I become. Any thoughts?
Even if I don’t go anywhere for a while. Just so I can have it, to remind myself that someday I’ll be able to use it. Hopefully sooner rather than later!
