my age currently being 28, there should be atleast 28 goals on my list…
but to the point, Church is probably the healthiest social environment…depending on your faith. In a nutshell, Christianity is about people joining together in a common faith, sharing the same beliefs and the general concepts of being a Christian, living life through Christ.
Now let me be very clear about why I haven’t attended Church regularly for the past several years. Hypocrisy.
There are the few bad apples that ruin it all, and most often, they aren’t even aware they are the cause of the problem, wether or not htey are a member of the cloth. Case in point, I see this happen most often in Protestant churches… A very close friend and colleague was belittled by a loudmouth at a local church, but not to her in the face, but to her son, who just happened to have started dating her daughter. She belittled him, and her entire family in front of a crowd after services. Why? Because she 1) Wasn’t good enough to go to her church, 2) wasn’t afraid to stand up for her beliefs, which are not blinded by a single and narrowminded way of thinking, and 3)she embraced other cultures and free thought.
That type of thinking makes me want to hit people…which is a very un-Christian thing to do. As a matter of fact…there are many “members” of the faith, no matter what chuch, synagogue, temple, mosque etc. etc. that live thier lives and believe the exact oppisite of what thier religion attempts to teach them. They just don’t get it. I am no saint, but atleast I try not to create enemies.
Also, by going to Church more often, I will feel again, like I am a part of something bigger than myself.
