I’ve read in several places that weight acts in a “first on, last off manner.” I’ve never really had a flat stomach, but I don’t think I’ve ever lost enough weight nor concentrated on firming the muscles under that region enough to try.
I presently weight about 200 lbs. I’m 189cm tall. I want to get get my weight down to 183lbs with general diet and exercise before I start to specific concentrate on this area…but I still want to do it!

First: my brother had his girlfriend sew patches on the nice pair of pants I melted to my cycle. She used fabric from the hem and lined up the pin-stripe pattern and everything. They now look like million-dollar hipster art pants. One would have no idea that they weren’t intended to be patched to begin with. She’s a genius.
Second: I broke down and spent big bucks on four pairs of pants before school started. This may have been a mistake because I’m presently shedding weight like there’s no tomorrow. I fear these pants might get to big for me soon. Oh well, that’s a good problem to have.

It’s been a few months now since I’ve finished her book; but I’m often returned to thinking about exactly from where her viewpoint emerged from when decided and committing to write this book.
Did she develop specific feelings about her culture after having learned the English language and studying English literature? Did she do so after studying in America?
Similarly, does being a xenophile tend one towards critical views of your native nation? Is it a requirement for the comparisons involved?
