While it doesn’t have to be me, I think it is time that Filipinos ran more global businesses. Global business executives are, to steal the term from Friedman, “super-empowered individuals.” Like it or not they have disproportionate levels of influence, resources and power to catalyze change. At any given time, there can only one Philippine President, but there can be hundreds of Filipinos running multi-billion dollar worldwide enterprises.
The Philippines is full of talented and brilliant people and business is an arena where we have proven capabilities of world-class achievement. Filipinos of future generations should grow up KNOWING that they can become world business leaders.
