Well, I finally got up and ran this morning in Golden Gate Park. I only went about 1.5 miles, but I figure that’s better than nothing after a 10 month hiatus.
Now the trick is to get up and do it again.

Yeah, I spend way too much time checking my RSS subscriptions throughout the day.
Yeah, I forget why this was really something I wanted to do. I’m doing everything I need and more with PHP right now.
After several long days of driving, we arrived three days ago. Right now we’re crashing with some friends while we look for our own place to live – not to mention getting new drivers’ licenses, figuring out the MUNI system, etc. etc.
Glad to be here.
We found out a couple of weeks ago that we were pregnant again. I’m so excited. Of course, now our 2 year old daughter is going to have to learn more about what sharing means… that should be interesting.
Sold the television on a whim at our garage sale last weekend. i’ve always dreamed of not having a television at home—just not sure my two-year-old would agree!
We just had our second garage sale—helping us downsize as we prepare to move this coming Spring. i figure, “Hey, we won’t be able to afford to live in a place any bigger than we’re in now, so why not get rid of everything that’s in storage?”
Turns out my brother-in-law was in the market for one. He picked it up last weekend and i haven’t heard from him since. Guess everything is going well (of course!).
Yesterday i implemented my first bit of AJAX in a contact form on my sandbox site (http://joshuarudd.com)—it went pretty well and wasn’t too difficult (it helped having a slew of public domain libraries to work with). Hopefully soon i’ll get the hang of it a bit more and start developing custom scripts for my clients.
The best part about this purchase was that it’s a write-off. i bought the 15” PowerBook G4 (1.67) with 1GB of RAM—and i’ve been very pleased with it’s performance. Now my office is mobile.
This is my 3rd PowerBook (i’ve also had three desktop Macs over the years and an Apple IIe) and they just keep getting better over the years.
Just about every time we get set up to start paying off some serious debt, something crazy happens. Now it’s our car again. The air conditioner has gone out and it’s going to cost over $1,500 to fix it. Texas summer and a two-year-old daughter make it necessary.
Maybe there’s another option we haven’t foreseen yet.
