I ran and walked 5 miles yesterday in the 97 degree weather. Hopefully that accounted for at least 1700 calories burned or a little less than a half pound.
The best way to lose weight is to eat less calories and fat and sodium and run! Figure out how many calories your body burns daily, then line up a good low fat, low calorie diet. Try to stay away from high sodium foods too as your body uses sodium to retain water. Make sure you eat 500 less calories than your body burns. Then run every day! At least 45 minutes of running and walking should take off another 4-500 calories. That leaves you with a 900-1000 calorie deficit every day.
3500 calories equals one pound. If you have a deficit of 7000 calories a week, that’s two pounds per week of fat loss.
That’s about as hard as you are going to want to push yourself.
I was 235, now I am around 210, from doing the above.
Run at least 1 mile a day.
