I think a little more training was necessary (only one month), but I made it in 2:16:50. Not bad.

So, I should have brought my phone with so I could meet with friends, but Saturday night in Piazza San Marco was awesome. I wish I had a costume, but face paint was enough.
It was a bit cold, but a day in Eilat and another in Taba were just what I needed for this year’s fix.
Have completed the first two weeks of class and things are looking good. In 18 1/2 months I should have my degree!
Classes begin tomorrow. In 18 months I should be celebrating my Masters of Science in Engineering!
I’ve been in Delft for three days and am finally getting a feel for it. My dorm has a private kitchen and bathroom, both small but functional. I think that I’m going to like it here…
I once had the fantasy of travelling in style, but it’s so much more fun to do it as cheaply as possible. I’ve met so many interesting people while hitchhiking and staying in hostels, and the stories that start with, “Well I was abandoned in the desert, again…” are much more fun to tell. Lonely Planet’s shoestring series has very good maps and the most accurate transportation details (time, routes, cost), but for the most current info look online.
So is quitting the day you resign or your last day in the office? Regardless, I have quit a job before, but it’s always a bit nervewracking. It feels so good to know that I have two weeks left here and then I’m free to move on.
That was yesterday. 750 m (0.5 mile) swim, 22k (13.2 mile) bike, 5k (3.1 mile) run. 1:47:43. It was so much fun. I can’t wait to do another, international distance next time.
One of my best experiences ever, living on a Caribbean island for a week, watching Finding Nemo, and relinquishing my fear of things that swim faster than me.
