I'm doing 28 things
We got the kids ipods this year. We spent way too much money, because ipods are small and we had to get other things too, but buying the ipods really put me in the Christmas mood. I can’t wait for them to open the ipods, because it’s what they really want and we’ve been saying all year that we simply can’t afford it. This will be a total surprise, but the good kind!

How I did it: It was a 1 day marathon, and we added Scream 4, which was actually quite good! Fun film series....What more can I say? We sat our asses on the couch and allowed them to widen while we vegged out, watching movies that have this underlying them of watching movies. How I did it: Actually, I didn't do it! During a week, I moved all sorts of stuff (rocking chair, computer desk, bags of clothes, and boxes of toys to name a few) over to my Dad's house, in preperation of a yard sale my sister was planning to have over there. How I did it: Well, it was my Birthday. It was a really nice day outside, so I wanted to do something out there. I asked my kids if they wanted to go for a bike ride, and they turned me down! Did this a little backwards. We saved money for the heat and bills, so we could use current funds to pay for Christmas. But I consider this done.
A lot has happened since April of 2008 (my last entry). Some of the songs we worked on are abandoned, but a few have survived.
We were both busy these few years, and hadn’t really been able to get together much.
At the beginning of the year, we came together – 2 brothers with acoustic guitars! We played 5 new songs (3 of mine, 2 of his) and worked them out. I think we have enough material to do another project, we just need to find the time to practice and then record. I do have some accoustic recordings of this session, which are fun to listen to, although unfinished.
I think we’ve mostly abandoned the “guest musician on every song” idea, but who knows what might happen.
We still have that 1 song recorded, but we want to re-record the lead vocals, so nothing is really finished.
In the meantime, I’ve put together a collection of old Room Temperature songs – stuff we rejected for our other projects. I want to get a package together and give this to some people. I just need to do the printing / cutting, and that’s hard to find the time to do (or the money).
