Like learning any language, the only way to seriously learn it is immersive. The less chance you have to speak English the better! Y ya hablo español!

I lived in Barcelona for a few years and in the last year was working in my profession (IT) with Spanish who didn’t speak any English. It was lots of fun!

To be clear my definition is simply ‘that I don’t need to work in order to live’ rather than ‘being reliant on others for income’.

I think the key to this goal is to realise that working hard in an everyday job with no stock options and some term investments will not realise this goal in a planned way.

So I have to take more risk.

A stake in a business is the most obvious way to do this, which is what I’m doing right now.
