I'm doing 25 things
I’m going to meet my Little in a week. She sounds great- I’m really excited to meet her.
And I start volunteering at the public library on Saturday. I’ve had to turn down an opportunity to work on an auction for the Humane Society- I knew it was going to be a lot of evening meetings, and most of my weekday evenings are already packed. Sigh. At least I can still do things with them on weekends.
I think I’ve achieved my goal for volunteering. The Big Sister will be at least a one-year commitment for three hours every two weeks, I’ll be at the public library every Saturday morning for a few hours, and I’ll continue to do my sporadic weekends with the Humane Society. I really feel like I’m doing something to give back to the very parts of society that mean the most to me and that have given me so much.
