How I did it: Netflix.com's Watch Instantly feature had two or three to choose from, so I picked The Seven Year Itch, curled up in bed, and watched it.  It was cute but oddly enough, I don't think I "got it."  Then again, how do you "get" a movie like The Seven Year Itch? Read how I did it…

Donate blood

That’s when I’ll be able to do it.

March 5, 2008 I received two blood transfusions that saved my life. That two people out there cared enough about someone they didn’t even know to give me their blood is something I’m eternally grateful for. When I tried to contribute my own good karma a few months ago I was told that transfusion recipients have to wait a year from the day they received blood before they can do the same.

March 5th, 2009. How wonderful it will be to both get closure on a terrible time in my life while also helping someone else.

send a gift to three friends
One down, two to go 11 months ago

It’s easy to shop for an aspiring authoress with a love for offbeat comedy, sci-fi and other geek lore. A quick trip to Amazon.com later, I sent her Amy Sedaris’ “I Like You” and the special edition of Watchmen so she can read it before the movie comes out. Set me back $40 but she’s worth it.
