I’ve been designing sites for a while now. I learned by poking around and viewing source until the dots finally connected. It’s a lot of fun and a great way to show off your writing, photography, or whatever it is you do.
Dreamhost is great service. Tons and tons of bandwith and storage (perpetually increasing), and best of all, a one-click installation of Wordpress. Wordpress is a free a blogging application, with tons of free and customizable themes. You really don’t need to know any HTML whatsoever. Just install it, and you’re on your way. Of course, if you’ll need to learn a bit of HTML and whatnot if you want to get into custom designs.
My website, Jump-Punch is running on Wordpress. I designed it a few months ago, though I still have a lot of work to do.
This might be a no-brainer, but don’t walk into a shop wanting a tattoo, ANY tattoo, and just pick one off the wall. Before you get your tattoo, know exactly what you to get. It’s okay to ponder for months. Chances are, you’ll get something you won’t regret. Be sure to keep in mind, that tattoos last longer than love, music preference, and life itself. Also, look at the artists’ portfolios and decide whose style matches your preference. Since tattoos are permanent, go to a reputable shop instead of a bargain a shop. TRUST ME. This is one area where you don’t want to skimp.
That being said, I have over 20 hours of work on my body and I’m nowhere near calling it quits.
