I don’t really have a reason. I already have a university degree. I just like school. I like books, studying, writing, and useless facts. Have I mentioned I’m a kick ass Trivial Pursuit player?
What really motivates me is that I don’t like working. It’s boring, frustrating, and involves stupid office politics that I’m really bad at navigating. I only work because I have to have money. If I didn’t need money I’d probably live in a suspended childhood, free of responsibility, spending my days reading, thinking, and wandering the city. Doing nothing at all.
This doing nothing would probably make me a not so nice person to be around, but short of winning the lottery I will probably have to work for many years to come so I guess I don’t have to worry about that.

Finally! After years of saying that I was going to do this, I’m actually getting off my ass and doing it. Cheers for having a full-time job and money to spare. I’ve also been indulging in clothes lately, but I digress. :)

I’ve registered for a placement test on the 30th and after they decide what level I’m best suited for (if there’s anything below beginner I’ll probably be put there!) I’ll be on my way to learning French.
I’m a bit nervous about the placement test. I know it’s not a ‘real’ test, but I am so embarrassed about my atrocious French accent. I hate butchering the language the way I do. Hopefully lessons will improve my accent to the point where I can be understood, though I suspect I’ll always sound like an anglo.

Sadly, as I seem to have lost my passport. Yes, I am a winner. :) It might still turn up, but I’m not holding out after almost three weeks of searching. On my to do list this week will be to contact the police and the passport office and take my punishment which is potentially not being able to leave the country until 2009. :(
I think it got lost in my move somehow. I’m not really sure how that happened, which is why I have some faint hope that it will show up somewhere.
In any case, this sucks. I didn’t even get to use it yet!
